Variable Depth Reactor

The Variable Depth Reactor system (VDR) is a unique biological treatment system consisting of four main steps; the activator stage, the reactor, the clarifier, and the sludge holding tank.

These four steps allow for treatment of contaminates in a process similar to a standard activated sludge system with a footprint similar in size to a sequential batch reactor. This system is designed to allow for fluctuations in contaminate loading that would cause large disruptions or failures in any normal activated sludge system.

This system is perfect for industrial users with high or inconsistent organic levels and variable flow rates.

Advantages to our Variable Depth Reactor System:

  • Better flow management
  • Solids do not carry over
  • Easy, efficient operational control
  • Lower cost
  • No moving parts
  • No aerosol contamination
  • Greater reliability
  • Greater flexibility
  • Small footprint
  • Easy accessibility
