A2/0 Activated Sludge

Our A2/0 Conventional Activated Sludge Solution is a precisely engineered environment that develops and supports the life cycle of biological masses of protozoa and multi-cellular organisms.

This activated sludge plant technology was developed to provide biological nitrogen and phosphorus removal.

The Primary Separation Basin is the key that allows our A2/0 process to stand above other conventional wastewater systems, by utilizing biological phosphorus removal. The primary zone is unique to our A2/0 process and allows for the production of the highest quality of effluents.

In the first part of the system, the Primary Separation Basin allows for the degassing of oxygen prior to gravity flow into the Anoxic Basin. The Anoxic Basin provides for a zero oxygen environment starting the biological phosphorus process. From the Anoxic Basin, the wastewater then flows into aeration basins which provide for the nitrification process.

The wastewater then leaves the Anoxic Basin to go through a process called aeration. This process provides for COD removal and nitrification. Thereafter, the wastewater is sent to clarification for solids separation. If necessary a sand filter and UV unit at the end of the process may be placed to meet regulatory effluent requirements.

Our A2/0 process is simple and reliable and it provides for excellent BOD, TSS, Phosphorus and Ammonia Removal, for impaired discharge streams.
